We, other Pharisee

Woe to us, Christians, we are hypocrites!
We feel guilty when we missed a single Sunday sermon,
But we perfectly happy when we do nothing to orphans and widows in their sorrow.

Woe to us, Christians, we are hypocrites!
We excitedly consume cheap products made in somewhere (you know..),
Don’t we know that behind every cheap product very likely there are unfair trades, exploitations, and human slavery?

Woe to us, Christians, we are hypocrites!
We endlessly remind everyone to tithe,
Truly I tell you: Sell everything, give it away to the poor, and follow Jesus.

We are blind fools!
We hire best architects to build big churches,
best artists to decorate their windows,
and spend thousands of dollars on building maintenance every year,
But we ignorantly pass by homeless and hungry people on the way to church!
What a good Samaritan we are..

Blind Pharisee!
We preach “love your neighbor as yourself”,
But we don’t consider people in neighboring countries who struggle for food, clean water, and decent shelter as our neighbor.
(Well..we don’t even interested to hear news about this in preference to celebrity gossips, do we?)

Woe to us!
We mindlessly use unnecessary tissue, plastic bags, Styrofoam,
We are too lazy to sort our rubbish,
We happily but new LCD screen, camera, mobile phone, laptop, ipad, iphone, just because ‘all my friend have it’ without ever think what happen with all these poisonous e-waste.
Our Greatest Artist has carefully crafted every single corner of earth, and we ignorantly destroy this masterpiece?

We, brood of vipers!
How will we escape being condemned to hell?
